Publishers can block certain types of unwanted ads from showing on their website or mobile app.

Advertisement can be blocked based on:

  • The advertiser’s domain: Basically a competitor ad you don’t want your competitor ad on your website, for example, Amazon ad on eBay it will hurt there business.
  • Language: Your website audience doesn’t understand if Arabic, Japanese, and Korean ads run in America or other language ads.
  • Certain ad content categories like:

  1. Dating: Includes dating services and online dating communities. Also includes chat sites and apps for meeting new people in general.

  1. Politics: Includes ads for political campaigns or candidates, ads addressing controversial social issues, ads referencing well-known politicians, and ads touching on events widely perceived to be political in nature, such as elections, protests, terrorist attacks, wars, and conflicts.

  1. Religion: Includes religious ads and ads advocating for or against religious views; does not include astrology or non-denominational spirituality.
  2. Casino & gambling: Includes simulated gambling games (including, without limitation, poker, slots, bingo, lotteries, sports betting, betting on races, as well as other card games and casino games) where there is no opportunity to win anything of value (such as money or prizes).Additionally, due to local laws, we strongly recommend that publishers do not opt in to receiving gambling ads if their primary site audience is intended for individuals under 18 years of age.

Alcohol: Target minors, or depict minors consuming alcoholic beverages, associate the consumption of alcohol to enhanced physical performance, improved social standing or better sexual success, imply that drinking excessively is beneficial, or that alcohol has therapeutic qualities either as a stimulant or relaxants, depict people under the influence of alcohol, or associate drinking with activities that are risky (such as driving, operating heavy machinery), antisocial or illegal, emphasize high alcoholic content as a positive quality.
  5. Downloadable Utilities: Software for download which is designed to enhance the functionality of an operating system or device, whether desktop or mobile. Typical examples include anti-virus software, file converters, driver updaters, system cleaners, download managers, disk defragmenters, codecs, browser toolbars, ringtones, screensavers, wallpapers, and so on.
